Masumi Kawamura is an artist born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan in 1975.
Her interest in human relationships has led to a series of video and photographic works based on the relationship between mother and daughter, which received a Shiseido Art Egg prize in 2012, and won her wide recognition. She has since continued to explore the possibilities of portraiture in the contemporary age, which in addition to photography, incorporates personal memories, perceptions, and relationships in the forms of sound and moving images.
