Statement
All of my work features the recurring theme of home -its absence, presence, memories, and longings. The isolation forced by the pandemic allows for more concentrated focus on the mundane, evocative, menacing, and sometimes grotesque implements in our homes.
CV
Ros Vila is a Catalan visual artist based in Portland, Oregon. Since moving abroad in 1999, her work continually revisits the concept of "home" represented in painting, fine art photography, and mixed media. "My art career is a work in progress looking for answers about place and belonging" - she said. Vila studied fashion design and marketing in Barcelona, and graduated from Dawson College, Montreal, DEC, with a major in Professional Photography.
