My work consistently and intuitively draws on pattern, color, surface, structure and form found in the natural world. The imagined forms in this new body of work are evocative of undersea life, water, clouds, geological formations and more.

The low-relief pieces such as Lamb and Thought Bubble are achieved by layering and shaping clay and the repeated gesture of removal. In works such as Sunspots and Stawberry Fields Forever, the recurrent gestures of rolling and pinching clay result in accumulation.

With repetition we notice even small variations in sameness - a feeling of both continuity and of outward growth. There is constant and subtle novelty.
