"Night Paintings and I, Virus" features rich, color field paintings, in which the color subtly shifts from one color to another; corner to corner. The paintings, all square in format, are born from non-objectivity and reduced to soft, atmospheric gradations of color. Macca paints layer upon layer of pigment on drywall compound, sanding between layers to create a smooth elegant surface. The paintings seem to glow while floating off the wall on thin aluminum panels.
