The D.E. May Traveling Case will be on display at the lively Pendleton Center for the Arts from July through October in Pendleton, Oregon

The traveling case is an opportunity to see D.E. May’s artistic vision and celebrate his legacy.

Dan May spent his entire life in Salem, Oregon traveling beyond just a few times ever. He drew inspiration close to home, from the sight of log trucks, tree's rings, workmen’s tools, farm buildings, basalt cliffs, bicycles, and architectural lines throughout the city.

The artworks in the traveling case range from intimate pencils used by May to completed three dimensional sculptures, objects he called Miniatures, to other work and ephemera highlighting the breadth of his sculptural practice.
