Susie J. Lee and her project, Siren, have been selected as an entrepreneur in residence at the New Museum's NEW INC program in New York City for the 2016-2017 season!
The first museum-led incubator, NEW INC is a shared workspace and creative development program designed to promote sustainable projects that generate cultural as well as economic value. An extension of the New Museum's mission of "New art, New ideas," NEW INC participants are a visionary group of creative practitioners who embrace risk, investigate the undefined, and engage with urgent issues and ideas at the intersection of art, technology, and the new economy.
Now in its third year, NEW INC annually selects a cohort of 40 participants from around the world as artists in residence, entrepreneurs in residence, and researchers in residence. Siren will be participating as one of eight entrepreneurs in residence, and we are the only group from Seattle.
What does this mean for Siren? For now, it means that we'll be going bicoastal; maintaining our home base in Seattle while honing our product and reaching out to new networks and communities through living and working in New York City.
