Working feels like being in love.
Working feels like a trance.
Working feels like listening for something that is silent.
I am drawn to making forms that evoke simple elemental shapes we find in nature. These forms resist categorization, but remind us of something familiar; of things we collect, hold in the hand with reverence. Things we know well that have quiet, hidden power, like seeds, petals, stones…
I stay with a piece until it finds a moment that hovers between what came before and what might come next. Something has happened. Something is about to happen. Either way, something unseen and lovely is happening.
