Ideas of Comfort and Danger

March 31, 2018 to April 28, 2018

Statement

The activity of nurturing contains good, bad, and everything between.
Using the metaphor of a nest, this work explores how we can feel both comfort and danger simultaneously in our surroundings. Nests are commonly prepared for newborns but nesting is an activity we seek to replicate throughout our lives. There are no perfect nests, only the ones we make and remake . . .

This site-specific installation was recently created during a month-long residency in March 2018, at the Banff Centre for Art and Creativity in Alberta, Canada.
